It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Creative World At Stubbylee Community Greenhouses



It’s September Silly Season at Stubbylee on the weekend of 29th and 30th September where they are hosting a Festival of Mad Art, Mad Theatre, Mad Culture, Mad Music and Mad Film to demonstrate that Illness does not take away our Creativity and Intellect. 

The weekend starts on Friday 29th at 10.00am with the opening of an exhibition featuring work from a wide range of artists drawing inspiration from many fields in a variety of media. There will be music throughout the day by a number of musicians. 7.00pm will bring the official opening of the new cinema and an evening of ‘Mad Film’

Saturday 30th September from 10.00am continues the Art Exhibition and Music but with the opportunity to get hands-on and creative within the exhibition space. 11.00am provides the opportunity to Meet the Artists, and the resident artist will give a short talk on the role of art in his life journey. 7.30pm brings the Mad Cabaret, a mad mixture of Theatre, Music and The Spoken Word featuring Mavis and Maude, 6 Strings to Freedom, Longstaffe & White (aka The Garage Poets), The Tribe, The Hatters and many more. Tickets for the Mad Cabaret  are just £2 available from Stubbylee Community Greenhouses.

The Rossendale 60's Festival is Rossendale Valley wide and includes events in Rawtenstall, Bacup, Haslingden and Whitworth. The Festival’s main aim is to attract and expose visitors to the beauty, heritage and culture of Rossendale. What better way than to create a Festival with a theme that young and old can relate to
