Bacup Is Definitely The Place To Be This Easter!

Bacup has an amazing programme of events and activities to offer this coming Easter weekend. There are activities in Bacup Town Centre on Irwell Terrace and on the Market Site, Bacup Nat, Bacup Library, Bacup Royal Court Theatre and Bacup Cricket Club. The following is the extensive programme of activities on offer at each of the venues:

Bacup Now are organising the Bacup Easter Festival on Saturday 20th April and have on their programme the following:

  • The Britannia Coconutters will be performing their famous Boundary Dance on Irwell Terrace and on the Market
  • There will be an Easter Artisan Market on the site of Bacup Market
  • The Star Wars Storm Troopers will be bringing the Force to Bacup
  • An Easter Bunny will be hopping around town giving out Easter eggs to the kids
  • Irwell Terrace will be the venue for Pete Sweetmore, Arty Party, The Owls Trust, The Skylight School, Dansworks, The Rossendale Drum Majorettes and Children’s Funfair Rides
  • Irwell Terrace will also be hosting Lots of entertainment for your enjoyment and Food and Drink to keep you charged up

Bacup Nat will be hosting an event on Easter Saturday 20th April at 11.30am, where there will be the unveiling of a Memorial Bench & Soldier in the Wall of History Garden in memory of men from the Bacup Natural History Society who lost their lives in WW1. You will also have the opportunity to see the ‘Meet the Tommy’ exhibition. Refreshments will be served

Bacup Royal Court Theatre have a whole range of activities planned for Easter Saturday 20th April. These will include:

  • Bouncy Castle and Children’s rides
  • A performance from the Britannia Coconutters
  • Meet their Easter Bunny
  • Face painting and Craft competition
  • Fancy Dress Disco
  • Easter Egg hunt
  • Tours of the Theatre

Bacup Cricket Club have some great activities over the Easter weekend including:

  • On the afternoon of Friday 19th April, there will be An Easter Egg Hunt for the kids
  • Also on Friday 19th April there will be a Comedy Night in the evening
  • On Sunday 21st April, the 1st cricket team will be playing their first match, and this will be followed in the evening with a Live Band

Bacup Library will be hosting a photographic Exhibition by the members of the Bacup Camera Club, which will be running from 10th April until 15th May

The Rossendale 60's Festival is Rossendale Valley wide and includes events in Rawtenstall, Bacup, Haslingden and Whitworth. The Festival’s main aim is to attract and expose visitors to the beauty, heritage and culture of Rossendale. What better way than to create a Festival with a theme that young and old can relate to
